Red Hot And Online
My name is Rachel Auteri and I’m the new Director of Compass Programming at Roland Park Country School. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself (albeit virtually) and I hope to meet you in person soon. I started in this position on April 1st—a strange time to begin a new position, let alone in a school environment. That said, I’m thrilled to join RPCS both in this position and as a parent. My daughter will become a Little Red in August and I can’t wait to welcome her to this amazing community.
COVID-19 has unleashed a myriad of challenges for healthcare workers, educators, parents, and other essential employees. I have watched in awe as RPCS has met those challenges head-on and always with the underlying mission of helping our girls live healthy and be well. In that spirit, RPCS has decided to launch online summer “camp” offerings for grades K-12 and a selection of adult options—what we are calling RPCS Virtual Academy.
The goal of these online “camps” and courses is threefold, to support foundational learning for students, to accelerate learning for students who want to use this time for rigorous study, and to provide enriching activities that engage a variety of interests. That said, we undertake all of these offerings with the wellbeing and social and emotional support for students (and adults!) at the forefront.
While this summer may look different than in years past, RPCS is here to support you and your family with engaging and enriching activities this summer. We welcome you to RPCS Virtual Academy and can’t wait to see you again in person soon!
All the best,
Director of Compass Programming
