RPCS Welcomes New Varsity Soccer Head Coach
Roland Park Country School Co-Directors of Athletics Scott Buckley and Dani Steinbach are pleased to announce that Gaby Davis has been appointed Varsity Soccer Head Coach.
Gaby comes to RPCS from Oldfields School where she has worked to support students in various ways since 2017. In addition to her roles as faculty member, Director of Summer Programs/Facility Rentals and Head Varsity Soccer Coach, she has also served as Director of Athletics since 2020. Gaby is currently an active coach in the Coppermine Soccer youth club program and has earned her US Soccer Coaching certificates.
Originally from New York, Gaby played collegiate soccer at Goucher College where she was a four-year varsity soccer player, a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and a participant in the student run philanthropy group, Gophers for Goucher. In her time at Goucher, she was on one of the winningest teams in school history, was 5th all time in assists and was recognized as a member of the 2010s Goucher All Decade Team.
“We are very happy to welcome Gaby to our RPCS community and Athletic Department,” said Dani Steinbach. “Through her playing and coaching experience and her unique knowledge of the IAAM, Gaby brings a competitive enthusiasm for the game of soccer and a focus on the student-athlete experience that is sure to make an immediate impact for our REDS.”
In addition to her role leading the soccer program at RPCS, Gaby will be joining the Upper School Math Department and will serve as an Upper School advisor.
“I believe that students are the central focus of what we do as teachers, coaches, and mentors,” Gaby shared. “I can’t wait to get to work with our REDS in both the classroom and on the field this fall!”
On May 18, we look forward to welcoming Gaby to campus to meet Middle and Upper School soccer players. Students will be receiving more details via email.
The Athletics Department would also like to take the opportunity to thank Nate Whitman for his commitment to RPCS Soccer in his roles as Assistant and Head Coach over the past five years – especially for his leadership of the program through the complex COVID-19 timeframe.
We look forward to the next chapter of RPCS Soccer for our REDS!
