Corrine Drost Named Head Lacrosse Coach at RPCS

Roland Park Country School Director of Athletics Carol Hatton and Head of School Caroline Blatti announced the appointment of Corrine Drost as the school's new head women’s lacrosse coach, effective July 1, 2021.

 

Corrine joins RPCS from Penn State University, where she has served as an assistant women’s lacrosse coach for the last two seasons. As offensive coach on a team that was ranked Top Ten in the nation for half of the 2021 season, Corrine led an offense ranked second in the Big Ten for goals and third for points. She coached and mentored the Big Ten Midfielder, Freshman of the Year and Second Team Big Ten Attacker and helped recruit prospective student athletes to the program. Corrine is also head lacrosse coach for the Tenacity Lacrosse Club’s 2028 team.

 

Throughout her career, Corrine has successfully broken new ground to evolve established processes and methodologies to develop high-caliber athletes. Prior to Penn State, Corrine was an assistant women’s lacrosse coach at William & Mary, where she served as the offensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator, while also helping with the defense and goalies. She also oversaw player development on and off the field and spearheaded multi-tier recruitment efforts. Under Corrine’s leadership and offensive strategy, William and Mary ranked third in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) for shooting percentage at .429. She also mentored and coached a freshman to Second Team All-Conference and two All CAA Rookie team players. 

 

“The coaching experience and the life experience that Corrine has makes her a perfect fit for Head Lacrosse Coach at RPCS,” said Hillary (Fratzke) Hamm, Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at William and Mary from 2014-2019. “Among her top strengths are her perspective, her tenacious work ethic, and her willingness to really see people.”

 

Corrine has also served as an assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Drexel University, Lafayette College and her alma mater, the University of Delaware. As a 2011 graduate, Corrine was a three-year starter and captain her senior year, the same year she received the Janet Smith “Grit” Award. She helped her team advance to the CAA tournament twice and reached the CAA championship in 2009.

 

“We were so impressed by Corrine’s creative vision, enthusiasm and cutting-edge knowledge of what it takes to be competitively successful,” said Carol Hatton, Director of Athletics. “We are so excited to see her and our team build upon our lacrosse program and she is thrilled to mentor and lead our REDS!”

 

In addition to her coaching role, Corrine will also serve as an admissions liaison and Middle School advisor.

 

Corrine will plan to meet with players this month, before she officially takes over the women's lacrosse program on July 1.
