Congratulations to the Roland Park Country School Class of 2025! On Monday, June 2, 66 graduating seniors were recognized for their academic, athletic, artistic and service and citizenship achievements at an annual Class Day ceremony. Then, on Tuesday, June 3, the Class of 2025 and their families, along with the rest of the Upper School student body and all RPCS employees, gathered for Commencement, held in the RPCS Athletic Complex, that was also broadcast live on the RPCS website. “The word Student Government Association President Sashi Kandadi selected for this year was perfect for your class,” Mrs. Joan Smith Head of School, told the graduates. “Each of you glows and we are all so lucky to have your bright light. It is truly a privilege to stand with you today as we celebrate your accomplishments, reflect on your shared journey, and look ahead to the exciting road that lies beyond graduation.”
The 2024-2025 Upper School Chorus performed a beautiful rendition of “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” before Norah White, 2025 delivered a beautiful and heartfelt senior speech that was a tribute to the passion and love of her classmates. She spoke about the genuine care and respect the members of the Class of 2025 have for each other, no matter how long each student attended the school and how the best live music, visual artwork, sports competitions occurred within the walls of RPCS – a testament to the passion of the graduates.
“After today, it is unlikely that our entire class will ever be together again in this capacity,” Norah said. “But it is also unlikely that our collective love and passion for each other will burn out. The only thing it has left to do now is grow.”
“Take what you have learned here, take the love and passion that lives inside you and let it be known through everything you say and do, let it be known to everyone you meet, let it hold the world together,” Norah continued later in her speech. “They are assets too precious not to share. I am so privileged to have known all of you, to have shared laughter and tears with you, to have been human with you.”
As Upper School Head Mrs. Sara Rollfinke, Mrs. Smith and President of the Board of Trustees Kyle Gore distributed diplomas to each senior, Mrs. Smith read brief, personal tributes about them. Then, the seniors and audience sang the school song.
As Mrs. Smith told the Class of 2025, “No matter where your own path takes you, please be kind, be thoughtful and be brave. You will have bumps in the road, but those bumps will pave the way for your successes, and I am confident that you know how to pick yourself up. You have everything you need inside of you to shape your own future and impact the world.”
We are so proud of this sensational Class of 2025!
