Annika Meyer Named Head Lacrosse Coach at RPCS
RPCS Co-Athletic Directors Dani Steinbach and Scott Buckley and Interim Head of School Joan Smith announced the appointment of Annika Meyer as the school’s new Head Coach of the Lacrosse program, effective August 15, 2024.
Annika joins RPCS most recently from John Carroll School, where she served as Assistant Coach and defensive coordinator on staff, helping the team to a 5th place finish in the IAAM. Annika is very familiar with our Baltimore lacrosse community as a graduate of Notre Dame Prep, where she led the team to an IAAM A Conference Championship her senior year and earned IAAM All Conference and Baltimore Sun First Team All Metro honors. She was also voted by her teammates to wear NDP’s #1 jersey as an unsung hero in honor of Yeardley Love.
Annika played four years of Division 1 lacrosse at Johns Hopkins University, where she served as a two time team captain of the Blue Jays and garnered All Big Ten and US Lacrosse All America honors, as well as making the Tewaaraton Award watch list. She also earned Academic All-Big Ten and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honors, and was named to the Big Ten All Tournament team her senior year. Following JHU, Annika continued her lacrosse career while pursuing her Master’s degree at University of Virginia. While there, she served as team captain and was selected as an Atlantic Coast Conference and IWLCA All-Academic Honoree.
Since 2020, Annika has been coaching with the Sky Walkers Lacrosse program. Most recently, she helped all 19 members of the 2025 White Team secure commitments to play at the collegiate level.
“Annika’s vision, energy and passion for the game, along with her dynamic strengths in strategy and player development truly stood out,” said Dani Steinbach, Co-Director of Athletics. “She shares a commitment to our School values and a deep appreciation for mentorship and the impact of athletics on the lives of student-athletes. Annika is close to the game and brings valuable insights and perspective that will help our REDS reach their goals and build upon the legacy of our lacrosse program.”
“I am eager to contribute to a program known for its excellence in both academics and athletics at RPCS,” Annika said. “The School’s commitment to empowering young women through education and sports aligns perfectly with my own values and aspirations as a coach and mentor. It is clear that the student-athletes’ love for RPCS, the sport of lacrosse and each other is radiant. I feel humbled and honored to turn the page for the next chapter of RPCS lacrosse and I absolutely cannot wait to get started!”
Annika holds a Master of Science in Commerce and Biotechnology from the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Johns Hopkins University.
RPCS is thankful to all members of our Search Committee (see below) for their time and dedication to this process. Their thorough evaluation of candidates and thoughtful deliberations have undoubtedly led us to select the best fit for the RPCS lacrosse program.
Annika will get started with the team this fall as she joins the RPCS community on August 15.
