Lisa Teeling Named Next RPCS Lower School Division Head

Dear Roland Park Country School Community,
I am thrilled to announce the appointment of Lisa Teeling as Roland Park Country School’s next Lower School Division Head, effective July 1, 2018. We are confident we have found an outstanding match for this role. This decision came after many in-person conversations with Lisa as well as written feedback from Lower School faculty members, administrators, parents, staff, and Lower School students. In addition, reference checks further affirmed that we had an outstanding candidate on our hands who is ready and capable to steer the Roland Park Country School Lower School forward.
Lisa Teeling has dedicated her entire career to education. She has over 23 years of experience teaching and serving in administrative roles in a variety of school settings. She currently serves as the Assistant Lower School Head at The Gilman School here in Baltimore, Maryland. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts from University of Maryland, College Park, and a Master of Education (curriculum and instruction) from Loyola College. Lisa is a recipient of the Edward K. Dunn Faculty Fellow Award for contributions to development of character and the Class of 1947 Award for Meritorious Teaching. She is also a recipient of the Sarah D. Barber Fellowship Award from Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth.
On a personal level, Lisa is energetic, insightful, focused and passionate. In addition to her strengths in developing and delivering a strong, innovative curriculum for students, Lisa cares deeply about building strong relationships with her faculty, students and parent community.  Through listening, observing and engaging in meaningful conversations, she is dedicated to learning what is important to our students, faculty and parents. She will make sure all voices are heard as we work strategically to advance the RPCS Lower School pedagogically and programmatically.
I extend my heartfelt thanks to our community for their involvement in this search process. Important searches such as this inherently take great deal of time and energy. I am truly grateful to the many individuals who dedicated their time to this process. The faculty search committee, chaired by Sara Rollfinke, and the parent search committee, chaired by Emmie Frank, provided invaluable insight and feedback. Faculty members, administrators, trustees and students who met with finalists in both formal capacity and in open sessions were also instrumental in steering us in the right direction. I am proud that this process became a shared mission between so many important individuals who believe wholeheartedly in our philosophy.

On behalf of Roland Park Country School, I am thrilled with this appointment and have every confidence that Lisa is the ideal person to lead our Lower School into the future. Please join us in celebrating and welcoming Lisa Teeling into the RPCS family with open arms!
