Babysitter Training with Safe Sitter®

    This Safe Sitter® Basic program is a 6 ½-hour essential curriculum that is hands-on, fun and exciting! It includes Babysitting as a Business, Success on the Job, Child Care Essentials, Safety for the Sitter, Injury Management, Preventing Problem Behavior, Care of Choking Infant and Care of Choking Child. 
    It introduces Preventing Injuries, Behavior Management, and an overview of CPR and Basic First Aid skills. You will need to pass a written test and fully participate in the classroom activities (conversations and role play) in order to receive a certificate. Each student will receive a Safe Sitter® handbook that will provide support for years to come!
    NOTE: For Programs One and Three attendance is required on both days for certification. Please bring bottled water and healthy snack with you each day and a lunch for the full day programs. *Please note this program does not provide a CPR certification.

Heartsaver® CPR AED Certification

    This is a video-based, instructor-led program that teaches adult and child CPR and AED use, infant CPR, and how to relieve choking in adults, children, and infants. 
    This program teaches skills with the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the campers, provide feedback, and guide the campers’ learning of skills. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use.

Manners Can Be Fun!

    Led by International School of Protocol

    This is a fun and interactive way to reinforce the good manners you are teaching at homeTopics include greetings, eye contact, body talk, table manners, kindness, helping others, and more! 
    The earlier you start learning to shake hands, to look someone in the eyes and to introduce yourself and others, the more likely it is that these skills become second nature. Campers are amazed how much fun learning these skills can be when you get to color, use puppets and dress ups, and lots of fun props to practice these real-life skills.

Driver's Education

    Program 1 - July 10- 21
    Program 2 - July 31- August 11

    Learning how to drive is one of the most exciting milestones of a teenager’s life – but safe driving must be taught. Patrick Francis, Paul Graves, and the other highly qualified instructors from Roland Park Driving School will teach automotive skills in the classroom and behind the wheel. There will be 30 hours of class time at RPCS and six hours on the road. 
    Behind-the-wheel time will be scheduled at the conclusion of the classroom part of the program. A learner’s permit is required for the driving portion of the program (but not the classroom). You must be 15 years old to take driver’s education class and 15 years 9 months for a learner’s permit and behind the wheel instruction. Arrangements may be made with students living in the local area to be picked up from their home or school for the behind-the-wheel portion of the program. Roland Park Driving School, and their instructors, are licensed and certified by the Motor Vehicle Administration to teach the approved MVA driver’s education curriculum.

Little Warriors: Yoga & Mindfulness

    Led by Victoria DeSalvo

    Little Warrior campers will explore the movement of their bodies, the gift of breath and the power of mind, thoughts and emotions. Campers will practice yoga postures and sequences daily and will be guided through mindfulness and meditation focusing on simple breathing techniques that aid in stress management and concentration. 
    You will also partake in arts and crafts relating to yoga and relaxation, nature hikes to connect with the earth and sun, games to promote kindness and community, music and chanting, and personal time for journaling. Campers will even create their own yoga mats! 

Peace-Building at Woodberry Crossing

    This unique camp experience explores peace-building concepts through nature. Each day campers travel to Woodberry Crossing, an educational farm in Parkton to explore over 100 acres of woods, fields, paths, and streams.

    The Center is filled with wildflowers, plants, birds, butterflies, and farm animals too! In this peaceful environment, you will enjoy swimming, hiking, stream walking, gardening, and caring for animals. You will also explore ways to be peaceful citizens through crafts, storytelling, cooperative games, and skits.
    NOTE: Transportation from RPCS will be provided. School bus will depart promptly at 9:00 am. Please bring bottled water, healthy snack and lunch each day.
