Our counselors, nurses, learning specialists, lead DEI practitioner, and other professionals are intentionally integrated, ensuring that support is seamless and responsive. Our commitment to accessibility means our doors are always open to our students, guaranteeing that resources are available precisely when they are needed.

Learning Support Services

At RPCS, our mission in learning support is to empower every student to understand their unique learning needs and to advocate for themselves on their educational paths. We are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where students can develop effective learning strategies tailored to their individual strengths and challenges. Through collaboration, personalized guidance, and skill building, we aim to inspire confidence, resilience, and a lifelong curiosity for learning in every student.

Students are empowered to access curriculum content through a strengths-based approach. By being aware of their own strengths, skillsets, talents, and abilities, students are able to learn the content in the way(s) that work best for them. Emboldened by a growth mindset, students are encouraged to understand their potential is guided by what they can accomplish, not by deficits or weaknesses.

Students progress from higher to lower levels of support as they get closer to graduation so that they are ready to successfully meet the challenges of independent function in a college setting.

Learning support means having a space where I can go for help no matter what I need. The learning support department is always there for me, whether it is patiently waiting until I am ready to ask a question or guiding me through my work so I understand it better. It gives me confidence knowing I have people who support me and want me to succeed.

Counseling

Our nurses, counselors and athletic trainers address health and wellness concerns through educational classes, short-term individual work with students and families, and personalized care and treatment planning when circumstances require it. An important part of our well-rounded approach is the relationships we build and maintain with resources and individuals who are experts in the community outside of our walls. We provide referrals to doctors, nutritionists, concussion experts, psychiatrists, therapists, and more who understand our community.

Peer Health Program

Our Peer Health Educators, students in grades 10, 11, and 12, work with younger students in grades 4, 7, and 9, leading discussions on various health and wellness topics.

The US students receive training during the summer and continue to receive ongoing training throughout the school year. The students create meaningful, age appropriate lessons that focus on the topics of friendships, exam preparation, time management, stress management, relationships, drugs and alcohol, and social media.

Parent Health

Parents engage in ongoing education and receive support related to social-emotional development through a range of targeted activities, including scheduled parent coffees, orientation sessions, expert-led presentations, individualized consultations, and informational newsletters.

We strive for Roland Park Country School to follow our core value to ‘Live Healthy and Be Well’ by providing preventative screenings, health education, and community referrals in addition to first aid and medicine administration.

The Health Suite is located on the 100 level  near the Lower School dance studio and is open from 7:45 am to 3:30 pm. The Suite can be contacted by calling 443-339-2147.

RPCS partners with the online health management system Magnus Health to securely collect and store student medical information. Parents and guardians are responsible for uploading the required annual exam form, immunization records, and completing all electronic consents and forms. These requirements are due annually on August 1st

Magnus Health can be accessed by logging into the myRPCS.

Our DEIB department ensures that different points of view, experiences, backgrounds, and more are welcomed and celebrated.
