Embracing the differences that bring us together.

At Roland Park Country School, we have created a community where every voice is heard, every identity respected, and every individual empowered. Guided by our core values, we are committed to fostering a culture of belonging, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Our Anti‑Racism and Anti‑Discrimination Statement underpins this work, as does our ongoing investment in affinity groups, leadership programs, and strategic action plans that nurture inclusive leadership and deeper understanding. Together, we are dedicated to building a community in which there is an understanding that our differences make our community stronger by every student and educator alike.

Stronger Together Action Plan

Launched in February 2022, RPCS Stronger Together: An Action Plan for Strengthening Culture and Community is a foundational blueprint of goals, guiding principles and commitments to support diversity, equity and inclusion efforts at Roland Park Country School. This detailed plan will grow and evolve to continuously meet the needs of our community.

Academics

In 2023, K-12 faculty committed to participating in a 3-year professional development plan focused on Liza Taulson’s Identity Conscious Educator for the purpose of ensuring a culturally responsive approach to teaching students. Teachers have continued to work on developing their own ability to create relationships of trust with all students, which promotes authentic learning. Identity Conscious Educator and Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain continue to be foundational tools for professional development within our community.

Student Well-Being

Audre Lorde once wrote, “caring for myself is not self-indulgence. It is self-preservation, and that is an act of political welfare.”

Here at RPCS, we value the holistic lives and identities of our students. Our student organizations and clubs are intentional about creating events and activities that help students rest and recharge so that they can reach their fullest academic and personal potential.

School Culture

RPCS seeks to foster a healthier and more inclusive school culture where everyone feels valued, respected, and supported. By embracing and promoting equity, kindness, and connection, we are maintaining a school community that values cross-divisional collaboration.

DEIB Events & Speakers

The RPCS community is intentional about identifying and hosting guest speakers who share their diverse perspectives and lived experiences. We create events and activities to expose our student body to the beauty of our diverse world.
