STEM 5

Innovation and Emerging Ideas

In STEM 5, students build the skills and confidence to bring their emerging ideas to life through hands-on exploration and problem-solving. Using Google Suite tools, students learn how to organize their work, collaborate effectively, and present their thinking with clarity and creativity. They deepen their understanding of coding and robotics by programming and engineering robots to complete challenges that require logic, precision, and teamwork. Through the design thinking process, students tackle open-ended projects that encourage them to empathize, brainstorm, prototype, and test solutions to real-world problems. The year’s work reflects the fifth-grade theme of Emerging, as students grow into independent innovators—developing the digital, technical, and creative skills they will carry forward into middle school and beyond.
