K-4th Grades Wellness

The Wellness Curriculum, Genuine Emotions, was developed exclusively for RPCS by local practitioners Briana Quinlan, LCSW, and Kara Wimert, SLP. It helps students build essential skills in self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, problem-solving, decision-making, relationships, and perspective-taking.

The program begins by helping the girls recognize and name feelings, thoughts, and body sensations, then progresses to applying strategies that support emotional intelligence and healthy relationships. By year’s end, students gain age-appropriate tools to help them thrive, both in and beyond school.
Students also engage in nature-based wellness lessons in the Backwoods, focusing on mindfulness, self-awareness, and problem-solving.

In fourth grade, the Peer Education Program pairs students with trained Upper School mentors who lead lessons on friendship, emotional wellness, social media, and the transition to Middle School. Overseen by the Counseling Department, this program promotes connection and empowers students to support one another with confidence and empathy.
