Kindergarten Math
During the kindergarten year, students build a strong foundation in number sense by exploring patterns, relationships, and flexible problem-solving strategies. They learn to recognize, compare, and represent numbers; sort objects by attributes; and develop an understanding of addition and subtraction through hands-on activities and story problems. Students begin reading and writing number sentences, working with whole numbers within 10, and are encouraged to verbalize their mathematical thinking to deepen understanding and confidence.
