Advanced and Experimental Photography

This course is designed for the student who has a genuine interest in exploring photography at an advanced level. Emphasis will be placed on honing technical skills while developing ideas for more conceptual photographic work. It may involve a combination of analog and digital photography, as well as work in Adobe Photoshop and other methods of creatively manipulating imagery. Students will investigate concepts related to visual storytelling, surrealism, social justice and personal expression. Projects build upon the foundation established in earlier photo classes with further emphasis on risk-taking and the development of an individual voice. May be utilized as a pre-AP course to begin portfolio-development or as a full-time alternative to AP Photography, as we will be covering similar skills.
