Leadership. Inclusivity. Wellness. Innovation.
These dynamic areas of focus are woven into the fabric of the programming at Roland Park Country School, and they guide our spirit of discovery, propelling our students to learn here and lead anywhere. RPCS is embarking on an extraordinary effort focused on building an inclusive community, reinforcing leadership and entrepreneurship, fostering wellness and strengthening STEAM/STEM. We will realize these pillars by investing in the people, the programs and the places that will position RPCS at the forefront of girls education and propel our young women into the future.
RPCS has never ceased to imagine possibilities. We are moving quickly to put your support to work in building an inclusive community, leadership and entrepreneurship, wellness, and STEM and STEAM. Here is what the campaign has accomplished thus far:
PEOPLE AND PROGRAMS: We ensured a lasting commitment to lead for the greater good with the endowment of the Philanthropic Literacy Board. We learned from our fellow Reds, joined the movement for Black Lives, and invested in the work with the creation and expansion of our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Office. We prioritized the wellness of our students, families, and employees in endowing the Linde Health Colloquium (formerly the Robinson Health Colloquium). We redoubled our emphasis on innovation and creativity as the foundation of all learning by endowing the faculty positions of STEM Institute Director and the STEAM Program Director.
PLACES: Through the This Is Our Moment campaign, we have expanded the Littlest Reds program spaces and reimagined a Wellness Suite with greater space for Middle and Upper School counselors and room to support students’ social emotional learning. We also designed a STEAM Hub in the Lower School that unites art and design with curricular experiences in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEAM). We added additional study spaces, learning rooms and workspaces in the Faissler Library, and we created a warm, inviting Reading Room. We renovated our Dining Hall in order to enhance future communing and socializing experiences for your children and our employees. We imagined what life would be like post COVID-19, and we added a wonderful new cafe and space for community-building in the Passano Lobby.
Today, the work continues as we pursue the first ever RPCS Equity Audit, grow our RPCS family through increased Need-Based and Merit Scholarship opportunities, and reimagine the Harris Center, Apgar Room, Upper School Dance Studio, final updates to the Faissler Library, Faculty Workrooms on the 100 and 200 levels, and Little Reds Playground.
The possibilities are limitless as we construct uniquely designed RPCS spaces, advance and expand our programs, and support and inspire our people. Join us as we imagine all that comes next.
