Nikki Hudson, 2013 Named Varsity Soccer Head Coach

Roland Park Country School Director of Athletics Carol Hatton is pleased to announce that RPCS alumna Nikki Hudson has been named Varsity Soccer Head Coach. Hudson, an RPCS graduate of the Class of 2013, served as Assistant Coach last season, helping the REDS earn the 2018 IAAM B Conference championship – the first soccer title in School history.

“After a thoughtful search to find the next Varsity Head Soccer Coach, it became clear that Nikki was the right fit to take over the program,” says Hatton. “She cares deeply about our students and the success of the program and she is eager to compete in the A conference next season. Nikki’s enthusiasm and passion for RPCS and the sport of soccer is inspiring, and I look forward to working with her in this capacity.”

Hudson was a four-year varsity player at RPCS, two-year captain, and was named IAAM All-Conference in her junior and senior seasons. Following a standout high school career, Hudson played two seasons of collegiate soccer at Rutgers University before transferring to Florida Gulf Coast University where she was two-time First Team All-Conference (2015 & 2017), and was named to the 2017 All-Tournament Team and the 2017 United Soccer Coaches Association Third Team All-Southeast Region. Hudson, a mid-fielder for the Eagles, was also named team captain in both her red-shirt junior and senior seasons at FGCU.

“I would like to thank the RPCS community, Athletic Director Carol Hatton, the search committee and former RPCS Head Coach Kelly Pierce for this exciting and unforgettable opportunity,” says Hudson. “As an alum, I am so excited to give back to RPCS Athletics and lead this talented group of athletes. I am extremely humbled to be here and cannot wait to get started. Thank you, RPCS - and Go Reds!”

Hudson played for Coach Charlie Myers and the Baltimore Bays soccer club for over 10 years, winning six consecutive Maryland State Championships. She also played for Maryland ODP from 2003-2010, was a member of the Region 1 ODP team in 2010 and was invited to the 2010 U17 Region 1 training camp in California.

Hudson holds a degree in Education with a minor in psychology, and currently teaches in our Little Reds early childhood program at RPCS.
