RPCS Laptop Repair/Loaner Policy
 Internet Safety

A laptop is required for all students enrolled at RPCS in grades 7 through 12.

RPCS Program Laptops

All laptops purchased through the RPCS laptop program are eligible for both hardware and software support.   Students may be asked to complete a service request form to provide specific information about the problems experienced so the technology team can diagnose the specific problem.

If it is determined that the laptop needs to be retained for a longer period of time or that the laptop needs to be sent off-campus for repair, a loaner laptop will be provided at no charge until the student’s laptop is repaired and returned.   All loaner laptops require that a loaner agreement form be completed by the student’s parent accepting responsibility for any damages incurred, except for normal wear and tear, while in the possession of the student. To expedite the loaner process, at the beginning of the academic year, the School requests that a completed loaner agreement be completed and on file for all 7 th – 12 th grade students.

In the event a laptop is lost during the course of the academic year, a loaner will be issued for a maximum of 30 days without a fee being assessed. After the 30 days if a replacement laptop has not been purchased, the parent has the option to continue using the loaner at the standard laptop rental fee of $15 per day or returning the loaner to RPCS. Replacements for lost laptops do not qualify for financial assistance.

Non-RPCS Program Laptops

If a non-RPCS program laptop requires extended service or is lost, and a loaner is needed, one can be rented for $15 per day, provided a loaner is available. As with RPCS Program Laptops, a loaner laptop requires that a loaner agreement form be completed by the student’s parent accepting responsibility for any damages incurred, except for normal wear and tear, while in the possession of the student.
