HOW TO GIVE SECURITIES

Securities Held by Donor’s Bank or Broker
A donor may notify a broker about his/her intention to make a gift of securities to Roland Park Country School and request the broker to contact the Development Office for instructions. Depending on the donor’s broker, a Development Administrator will suggest one or two brokers with whom the School has an account who could receive the securities.

Securities Held by Donor
A donor may send unendorsed certificates by mail, along with a letter giving his/her name, address, class or School affiliation, and the purpose of the gift to:

Valuation and Date of Gift
The value of a gift is based on the mean between the high and low quotations on the date that the securities pass unconditionally from the donor’s control. In the case of securities that a bank/broker transfers, this is the date they are received in an RPCS account. In the case of securities that a donor mails, this is the date the envelope is postmarked.
