ANNE
HEALY CONTINUES TO INSPIRE AND CARE
In
1950, Anne Healy accepted the Board’s
call to succeed Miss Castle as the third
Headmistress of Roland Park Country School,
and she led RPCS with quiet authority
and warmth for 25 years. Among many notable
accomplishments during her long tenure
were the School’s first fundraising
efforts.
It is not surprising, therefore, that
when Roland Park Country School formed
The Red
& White Legacy in 1996 to honor planned
giving donors, Anne Healy was one of its
founding members. She has provided for
the School in her will for one simple
reason: she believes that no school prepares
young women better than RPCS to make a
significant difference in our challenging
and changing world.
Moreover, Anne Healy explains, “The
School needs planned gifts to support
increasing endowment and capital needs.”
When bequests and trusts are realized
on a regular basis, Roland Park Country
School will be able to rely on the proceeds
to provide student financial assistance
and faculty support, to help enhance its
fine facilities, and to fund capital purchases
and projects that might otherwise burden
the operating budget.
Miss Healy, who attended her 54th Commencement
in June 2005, is still a much loved presence
at RPCS. Indeed, she hopes the example
of her thoughtful bequest will inspire
others to consider a planned gift in order
to ensure that Roland Park Country School
remains a leader in the education of young
women for generations to come.
As she did in 1970, Anne Healy appeals
to the RPCS community: “Let your
gift be given as a token of your belief
in all that we stand for…let it
reflect your faith in the Roland Park
Country School.”
