A. Faissler & Killebrew Libraries
Roland Park Country School's
libraries are known in the educational community as
being among the most technologically advanced school
libraries in the region. In fact, our libraries have
served as the models for other independent school libraries
and are frequently visited by professionals and students
from the community.
The Faissler Library serves
the Upper and Middle Schools and is staffed from 7:45
a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:45 a.m.
- 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The library houses a collection
of over 15,000 volumes, 83 periodicals, over 700 videos
and many other audio-visual materials accessed through
a sophisticated electronic catalog. This impressive
collection is further enhanced by electronic access
to over 2,000 periodicals as well as sources covering
current events, history, literature, science, biographies
and multicultural topics as well as providing access
to the Internet. In addition, there are nine study carrels
equipped with School networked computer terminals providing
Internet access. The Faissler Library is also home to
the Juanita Jackson Mitchell Multicultural Resource
Center.
The Killebrew Library serves
the Lower School and houses a collection of over 7,000
books and numerous periodicals geared toward younger
readers. The library also has an extensive collection
of videos, films, a special collection of books on mythology,
and CD-ROMS for Lower School students. The Lower School
library is linked via three networked computer stations,
to the Upper School Library.
