Welcome to Roland Park Country School! This is the entrance to RPCS’s 21 acre campus, which is located in Northern Baltimore City.
The Harris Center provides an inviting welcome to RPCS.
The Dorothy Mears Ward House, the main building on campus, houses the Head of School’s Office, the Admissions office and various Administrative offices. The estate was formerly owned by Dr. and Mrs. A.R.L. Dohme and previously by Charles Bonaparte, the great-nephew of Jerome Bonaparte, Napoleon Bonaparte’s brother.
The Admissions office is a prospective family’s first stop when visiting the RPCS campus.
Together with the adjoining Lenci Room, this room is a unique and elegant setting with a beautiful view of the front lawn and athletic fields. These rooms are used for small meetings, luncheons and gatherings.

The sunlit Faissler Library serves the Upper and Middle Schools. The library houses a collection of over 15,000 volumes, 83 periodicals, over 700 videos and many other audio-visual materials accessed through a sophisticated electronic catalog. This impressive collection is further enhanced by electronic access to over 2,000 periodicals as well as sources covering current events, history, literature, science, biographies and multicultural topics.
RPCS students enjoy various student lounges where they gather during free periods to study, converse with their peers and relax.
In addition to the laptops provided for faculty and required for student in grades 7 – 12, the campus also has two desktop computer labs that are each equipped with at least 15 computers.
The RPCS hallways are adorned with students’ colorful drawings, paintings and sculptures.
The Killebrew Library serves the Lower School and houses a collection of over 7,000 books and numerous periodicals geared toward younger readers. The library also has an extensive collection of videos, films, a special collection of books on mythology and CD-ROMS for Lower School students. The Lower School library is linked via three networked computer stations, to the Upper School Library.
Complete with a small stage and open floor plan this 2,600 square foot, carpeted room is used for a variety of purposes. The MPR is home to the Lower School after school program.
Centennial Courtyard - Middle School students spend their free time in this landscaped courtyard, studying, eating lunch, or spending time with friends.
Chapple Courtyard - Upper School students spend their free time in this landscaped courtyard, studying, eating lunch, or spending time with friends.
RPCS recognizes the importance of physical activity—and play—for all students. The Lower School playground provides an optimal setting for daily recess.
Dining Hall was completed in 2001, the Dining Hall provides an inviting setting for RPCS students and faculty. The lunch menu is balanced and nutritious and provides students with a wide assortment of hearty options. Lined with windows, this room is bright and airy and opens to an outside patio area with seating that overlooks the beautiful Backwoods.
RPCS has two Dance Studios that are used for classes, auditions, and rehearsals. Each studio features mirrored walls and ballet barres. One studio has a Marley floor and the other has a brand new wood floor that was installed in 2008.
Knott Lobby - Located outside the Sinex Theater, this carpeted foyer opens to the beautiful Chapple Cherry Tree Courtyard. RPCS student artwork is displayed in this lobby year round.
Completed in 1994, the Sinex Theater is a great venue for any performing arts show. The theater seats up to 425 people and boasts an orchestra pit, an elevated sound and lighting booth, wing space, a green room and two dressing rooms. The Sinex Theater is used for classes, rehearsals, performances, speakers and divisional meetings.
Completed in 2008, the RPCS Athletic Complex reflects the school’s commitment to team competition, physical education, lifetime fitness as well as environmental sustainability. This 39,000 square-foot complex was built with state-of-the-art amenities that will serve every student and play an essential role in a healthy RPCS community
Comprised of Forestry Service Certified (FSC) maple, the RPCS Gymnasium houses three teaching spaces with one main competition court for badminton, basketball, and volleyball. Spectators can watch all of the action in top-down-feeding stadium seating.
The Fitness Center is open to all students and faculty members five days a week. The 3,000 square-foot facility overlooks the turf fields and is equipped with 16 cardio machines, 20 strength training machines, an array of strength training equipment and two free weight platforms. A Fitness Center Coordinator is available to work with students and help them design a fitness program.
The Megan Smith Rowing tank is an eight station, indoor rowing tank for crew practice and fitness. This facility is the first of its kind in a Maryland high school.
The upper (Fisher Field) and lower fields are comprised of FieldTurf synthetic playing surfaces. FieldTurf is created through a layering process that imitates natural grass. The upper field meets the new U.S. lacrosse and IAAM guidelines. These fields are home to field hockey, lacrosse and soccer.
